The three admissions options for the nursing program are as follows: Direct Entry, for most students, Pre-Nursing Admission, for dedicated med students, and Transfer Admission, for external students. All incoming nursing students must first complete basic biology and chemistry classes. The mission of the nursing program is to prepare students to become critical thinkers, agents of change and compassionate nurses. The nursing faculty is noted for emphasizing life-long learning, holistic nursing care and interactive curricula.
The goal of the nursing department is to endow graduates with a framework of core competencies that will result in clinical expertise and nursing scholarship excellence.
